PCMA’s strongest asset is its members and our members’ willingness to share skills, knowledge and expertise. Putting that talent into action by volunteering for a committee can be your first step to an active role in PCMA. Volunteering provides tremendous benefits including personal growth, professional development, building industry contacts and developing relationships with colleagues along the way. Listed below are the committees for which you can volunteer.

The Marketing Committee is responsible for developing, updating and monitoring the Chapter’s social networking accounts and recommending new ways for the Chapter to communicate with its members and other third parties through alternative media. Ideal for those active on social media platforms with a passion to keep our members engaged and informed. 

Time Commitment: Moderate (4-5 hours/month)

Develop educational offerings, source speakers and help secure venues and partners. Ideal for those who are passionate about quality education for event professionals and are aware of trends and topics impacting the industry. 

Time commitment: Moderate (5-7 hours/month + supporting events onsite)

The Membership Committee strives to make all members feel welcome. They make outreach calls/emails to welcome new members, membership check-ins/surveys, and help with new member initiatives. This position is ideal for those who love to talk to people and can make our members feel welcome and appreciated.

Time commitment: Light (2-3 hours per month)

The Sponsorship committee is responsible for implementation of ongoing sponsorship campaigns as well as maintaining relationships with the existing sponsors throughout the year. Committee members will work together to work with sponsors and create programs that drive sponsor value. Committee members will work together to create prospectus offerings and to reach out to member companies for sponsorship.

Time commitment: Light (2-3 hours per month)

Provide quality benefits and experiences to PCMA student members; increase overall PCMA Student Chapters; increase awareness of PCMA with students and young professionals.

Time commitment: Light (2-3 hours a month)

Committee members that reside in the same state within Southwest & Pacific Chapter’s region. will work together to execute events and engagement activities in your respective State to further engage new members.

Student Involvement

As a chapter we are committed to supporting the future of our industry through quality programming, networking, and the participation of our enthusiastic students. Student involvement in the Southwest & Pacific Chapter is a great way to network with fellow students and seasoned professionals. You’ll gain valuable experience organizing events and community service projects with our chapter. Additionally, you can build relationships with hospitality and meeting professionals in your area.
